BIOGRAPHY

Theresa Cornelia is a Chinese-Indonesian writer, director, and performer based in Australia.

In 2016, she moved abroad to study at the University of Melbourne. It was there that she began writing, directing, and performing community plays while submitting short stories and poems to student publications.

Theresa has been selected to join prestigious Australians initiatives such as Cinespace’s “Urban Legends” Anthology Project, Cinespace’s Package to Pitch, Footscray Community Arts' Behind the Screens, AFTRS' Talent Camp in Victoria and Cinespace's Training Grounds (where she was mentored by director Nicholas Bufalo).

Her first short film, Subject 9412, placed 2nd in Cinespace's 123 Film Competition in 2021 and it was also MAX3MIN's International Competition Official Selection in 2022. Later, she created a podcast series called Chindo Tea, alongside her friend and collaborator. Theresa serves as a host, writer, and editor.

In 2022, Theresa released heydays, a TikTok series, she wrote, directed, produced, edited, and starred in.​

Theresa is also a Notetaker and Script Coordinator. In 2023, Theresa joined the ABCME series, Planet Lulin created by Melanie Sano, as a Script Coordinator. She is currently in production for a short film, called SNAPPIN'.
