In addition to screening the film, Theresa Cornelia—the director, writer, editor, producer, and actor—will be participating in a filmmaking panel.

The Human and the Android is one of the projects announced to have received online development funding.
Women in Animation Unveils 2024 International Diversity Initiative Teams

Women in Animation (WIA) has revealed the five teams chosen for the 2024 Stories x Women program, sponsored by The Walt Disney Company and UNESCO.
The chosen projects are: “Aimó” – Brazil, led by Fernanda Alves Salgado with Giuliana Danza; “The Human and the Android” – Indonesia, led by Theresa Cornelia; “Jaé Natal! (S’up Xmas)” – Brazil, led by Camila Padhila with Roger Keesse; “Karetabla” – Argentina, led by Maria Rosario Carlino with Carlos Zerpa; and “Oarona” – South Africa, led by Thandiwe Mlauli with Angel Pitre.

Introducing the new cohort of emerging filmmakers joining the Behind the Screens program! Alice Gilbert, Ames Choucair, Feifei Liao, Jackie Dixon, Jenn Tran, Llewellyn Michael Bates, Natal Jimma, Rama Luksiarto, Senuri Chandrani, Theresa Gunarso, Tinaye Nyathi, Vimbai Viviene Nenzou.
Facilitated by filmmaker and journalist, Santilla Chingaipe, Behind the Screens is a capacity building program for filmmakers underrepresented in the industry. Presented in partnership with Film Victoria, this program will support participants to develop their skills in an open, supportive and collaborative learning environment.

Cinespace Inc’s Package to Pitch participants unveiled

Fifteen Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) practitioners are set to participate in Cinespace Inc’s Package to Pitch program, an online masterclass on pitching into the market.
Selected by a culturally diverse panel, they include: Amal Awad, Alan Nguyen, Ana Tiwary, Orson Dijle, Serah Nathan, Karl Fernando, Eliza Matengu, Vonne Patiag, Theresa Gunarso, Jeremy Nguyen, Divya Vaman, Kim Ho, Michelle Ny, Sam Calafiore and Eva Justine Torkkola. Each has a pilot TV script they’re ready to pitch.
